A Playlist For Your Winter Weekends

It’s my seventh winter in Cape Town and while the colder days have stopped shocking me, I still have a love-hate relationship with the season.

If you know me, you’d know that I spent the large majority of my life single (happliy single, but, still single). One of the best things about now being in a relationship and married to someone who loves music just as much, if not more than me, are our road trips.

Last weekend, we decided to take a quick unplanned drive out of town for cake and hot chocolate. The weather lent itself to being in bed (think: cold, rainy and dull), but we went anyway — more for the drive and sing-a-long than anything else.

Much like my first playlist, I’ve been sitting on these songs (since) forever (so long, that friends have released their playlists with the songs I introduced them to, haha!) — so don’t expect anything particularly new.

What you can expect is a good listening experience from start to finish. If you’re an Apple Music listener, make sure that you’ve “selected” Cross Fade Songs in your Playback Preferences and then make it around 8 seconds long. I love doing this for a good-seamless listen on my laptop.

Anyway, here goes…

Hi Friend,

I genuinely hope that this message not only finds you well, but full of hope and expectancy.

For a long while now – a few years – I’ve had it heavy on my heart to start something. Something authentic, something with depth, something that offered a holistic approach to health and wellness to the non-white (BIPOC) female, and I’m finally doing it. This is it.

It’s a online platform of curated content largely speaking into the following:

  • Travel
  • Wellness
  • Culture

Its name is TRAVEL LIGHT.

A place where people learn how to navigate through life “lightly.” Without baggage – emotionally, mentally, physically, and more… A new perspective.

Now, obviously, any woman is welcome to come onto the site in an effort to find a way to navigate through certain issues she may have in her life, but, anything we share will be from non-white professionals and from a non-white cultural view point…

… Because it’s important,

Love

Eden Myrrh
